The Allan J. Goody, MD Bedside Medicine Series is an initiative at the Georgetown University School of Medicine in collaboration with the W. Proctor Harvey Center for Excellence in Clinical Teaching.
This bedside teaching series is part of The Georgetown Bedside Society Project. This project aims to create a modern curriculum – web accessible, in small, easily digestible portions - that is focused on the highest yield, evidenced based items that could be used to make clinical decisions at the bedside. These include traditional physical exam as well as use of technology at the bedside, like Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS).
The project also aims to have the series content delivered in a novel manner - via structured resident-to-student mentorship. Aspiring resident educators are utilizing and creating this content to teach medical students via a newly established interest group in bedside medicine, the Georgetown Bedside Society.
